Campus Ministry
The Tampa Bay Church campus ministry, Disciples for Life (dfl), includes students from The University of South Florida (USF) and Hillsborough Community College (HCC). We are committed to building a vibrant and effective campus ministry that spans not only these schools, but also the University of Tampa (UT) downtown, as well as several other schools across the Tampa Bay area.
dfl is comprised of students from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and varied interests. Beyond our differences, we are united through our desire to live as followers of Jesus Christ. The purpose of our campus ministry is to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind, and our mission is to love our neighbors as ourselves. We are Christians building deep friendships, deep convictions, and life-long memories.
J.C. and Shyla Smith lead the campus ministry. They bring ministry experience from Italy, England, and Orlando. Along with their sons (Juan, 10 and Mario, 8), they live just five minutes from USF and enjoy building family in the campus ministry as well as reaching out in our academic community.
